Ten years ago, he lost his wife, Naomi (Sanae Tsuchida), to the same disease. Juri Ueno) has disappeared. Takeda tries to commit suicide when he receives a phone call from the Shiga Prefectural Police. Sawako's skeletal corpse is said to have been discovered. Female detective Murai (Yasuko Tomita) sets out to investigate a case whose statute of limitations is about to expire. At a lake, the two find a picture left behind by Sawako.
